The Manchester FA are set to look into allegations that a Jewish man was racially abused by an opposition player during a Sunday League game in Manchester.

The man, whose son was playing for South Manchester Sports Club's Under 16 side, was called a "dirty ******* Jewish ****" during the contest against Mable United in Whitefield.

The player was promptly shown the red card for his actions and can now expect to be investigated by the FA.

Referee Jimmy Atherton has mentioned a number of alleged antisemitic incidents, which occurred throughout the game, in his match report and will present his findings to the county FA.
