David Garbacz breathed a sigh of relief after normal service was resumed and Hendon United Sports Club A ended their blip with a 12-1 demolition of Hendon B to cruise into the Quarter Final of the Cyril Anekstein Cup.
Hendon B managed to keep it tight for the opening 15 minutes, but when the first goal did come the floodgates opened and the A's were 7-0 ahead at half time and out of sight.
The second half saw an improved performance for the B's, who unfortunately tired in the closing 15 minutes and conceded several more. However, they were rewarded for their efforts when Benni Sluckis nodded in a late consolation
Dovi Fehler, Simon Peterman and Zack Lewis helped themselves to hat-tricks, while further strikes from Yoav Kestenbaum and Ethan Zone (2) completed the rout.
Hendon A boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We enjoyed ourselves this morning - we played some good, pacy exciting stuff scored some excellent goals and very nearly even managed to keep a clean sheet.
"The gulf between the teams was evident from an early stage but all credit to the Bs for never dropping their heads and remaining competitive throughout. They deserved their goal at the end.
"Today was important for us to regain belief and our confidence and the swagger was definitely back. There were excellent stand-out performances all over the park today, with three great hat-tricks plus a superb Duracell battery performance from Ethan Zone who ran rings from minute one to 90 and also chipped in with two goals.
"We've had our bad patch now this season and it's full steam ahead from here on in."
Hendon B manager Adam Glekin told JC Sport: "I can't fault the effort we put in, but the gulf in class was just far too big to bridge. Having said that, the first half was really disappointing on our part. In possession, we were like a rabbit caught in the headlights and we've given them quite a few early Chanukah presents with the goals we've gifted.
"Fair play to them, they're a very classy side and I'm sure will kick on now, but we could've done without a few of the classless comments from their manager to put a dampener on things.
Anyway, for us it's one to forget and we can now focus on our promotion push knowing we won't have to play teams with that sort of quality every week."
