Pinner felt the full force of a Glenthorne backlash in the top against bottom clash at The Old Chigwellians with star striker FABIO REVIECCIO leading an incredible 15-0 demolition.
Having been beaten by second-placed Blizzard Storm last weekend, Revieccio fired home five of the best with teammate JAMES LAW adding a hat-trick.
Further strikes from Dan Lassman (2), Jordan Sapler, Josh Wynne, Grant, Ross and Jamie Crawford completed the rout.
The floodgates opened almost instantly with Daniel 'the Beast' Lassman and Fabio '1 in 5' Rivieccio linking up well up top and Sapler scoring a simple header. The Pinner defence tried their hardest, but it was to no avail as further goals from Wynne, Law, Rivieccio, Lassman put the hosts in 9-0 ahead at half time.
The changes at half time saw Glenthorne try a different shape, with Crawford coming on to score and assist a few, along with Rivieccio notching up a total of five goals. But Fabio's afternoon didn't all go his way, with him having the miss of the decade when clean through with the goalie stranded, goal at his mercy, managing somehow to fluff a weak left footed shot from less than a yard miles wide.
Law made a promise to bored goalie Mitchel 'Almunia' Ross that when he completed his hat-trick he would swap positions. Within seconds of saying it, Law turned just inside the Pinner half before delicately floating a curling lobbed effort which clipped the inside of the post on its way in. Ross then came out of goal and nicked a goal to take him one goal ahead of veteran MSFL superstar Josh Hambling, who has failed to score in something like his last 350 MSFL league games.
The time was now for Joe Grant to finish the game in style, with Law coming up from his goal to take a corner, played short to Crawford who layed it into Grants path for him to control onto his cultured left peg, before unleashing a whipping dipping shot into the top corner. What must go down as the second best goal of the day!!
From the kick off Pinner went on the offensive, finally testing James Law on his debut as a keeper, who managed to acrobatically fist the ball away in style. The final whistle was blown and Glenthorne edge what they believe is a step closer to promotion and title glory!!!!
Great performances from almost all the boys today. A special note that Hambo was worse than ever. And Law is now on seven for the season. How many has Rich scored again???
