Camila Giorgi insists she has no regrets following her first-round defeat against second-seed Garbiñe Muguruza in the Ladies Singles.
Giorgi, 24, pushed the 2015 runner-up all the way on Centre Court in a pulsating match that lasted more than two-and-a-half hours.
The big-serving Muguruza broke Giorgi in the opening game on her way to winning the opening set 6-2. Giorgi of Italy rallied superbly to draw level with a series of crunching winners.
But her decision to opt for all-out power in her play saw her produce 42 unforced errors which eventually led to her downfall, as the relieved Spaniard served out to win the decider 6-4.
The baseliner had fought toe-to-toe with her bigger opponent who served her way out of trouble in a game where there was little to separate the players.
"I wouldn’t change anything if I could play her again,” said Giorgi, who was cheered on by her dad and coach, Sergio.
"Overall I wasn’t happy with how I played. I tried to play my game and had my opportunities but didn’t take them."
She admits her only target this year is “to climb the rankings” but has yet to decide whether or not she will compete at the Rio Olympics.
