MGBSFL DIVISION TWO

FAITHFOLD GREEN 3 HAMPSTEAD DUCKS 5

Pre-match nerves were evident in the Ducks' camp ahead of the Maccabi League opener. However, two quick headers from centre-back Jack Wagner from two corners settled these nerves were settled and the visitors started playing fluid, one-touch football.

However, against the run of play, Faithfold scored twice and they were back in the game.

After a sturdy team talk from gaffers, Daniel Sonn and Hugo Davidson, Gaon scored a screamer from outside the box. Faithfold continued to battle and scored again, but with 20 minutes left, and a few tactical substitutes, the Ducks finished the game on a high with Gaon completing his hat-trick - including a fantastic third goal, struck from outside of the penalty area on the left-hand side of the box.

Chaim Kraus (2) and Jamie Kent replied for Faithfold. Player-manager Ben Kfir told JC Sport: "We're very disappointed not to have taken something from the game.

"Some very cheap goals were given away but I'm encouraged by the overall team performance, especially our midfield and attacking play."
