David Garbacz hailed summer signing Dovi Fehler as his double helped Hendon start where they left off as they overpowered the Lions at Rowley Lane.
Player of the Season Ari Last and Greg Corin put the icing on the cake.
Delighted Hendon boss David Garbacz told JC Sport: "This was a very satisfactory way to start the new campaign - four goals, a clean sheet and six debutants all putting in great performances.
"This was a very new-look Hendon, especially when Ben Kon and Alex Rosenthal pulled out late on, but the one thing that mattered stayed the same and that was the accumulation of three excellent points.
"Of all the debutants, however, the one that really got the juices flowing was youngster Dovi Fehler - his touch and pace was terrific and he got off the mark with two typical poacher goals - believe me this kid will take a lot of stopping this year.
"But everyone played their part and slowly but surely we were able to wear down a pretty good and enthusiastic Lions team who gave everything in an entertaining match.
"Greg Corin carried on where he left off last year and capped a strong performance with an early contender for goal of the month and Simon Peterman slotted in very nicely alongside Ari and Rafi in midfield - at the back we looked slightly open on occasions, but overall we coped well and everyone started the season off in exactly the right way."
Lions boss Jamie Kyte told JC Sport: "It's great to be back and it's a shame we couldn't get off to the start we wanted.
"Playing Hendon in the opener is always going to be tough and when you make mistakes that result in goals, you're never going to give yourself a chance.
"Hendon as always were solid, organised and tough to breakdown. Ari Last was class as always and Greg Corin scored an outlandish chip from inside the box.
"We're looking forward to next week's game against Woodford and we're going to be changing our team drastically."
