Fegan takes charge at Fortune

Now Fegan, who was Souber's No. 2, will lead the team into Division One with Jack Morris becoming assistant-manager.

Fegan said: "Andy and I had a good understanding of what we wanted to achieve last season and how we were going to go about doing it, especially the style of play. It was a great pleasure working with Andy and I am going to miss the long discussions we used to have. He was great to work with; just a shame he was a QPR fan!

"I have a lot of confidence in my ability and I know that this club will reach even higher heights and with Jack joining me as my assistant. We know that we can work well as a team off the pitch and apply it to on the pitch.

"The players we have at this club are great to work with and we are all looking forward to the new challenge of the first Division next year. I am fully aware that as we are champions, other teams will be looking at my squad with great envy but this is football and some players may decide to move which is always a great shame but I am confident that the core of the team will remain the same and new signings will compliment what we have already got.

"I know that other managers around the MSFL dub me as the new Harry Redknapp or Malky Mackay but let me tell you this ... within time people will be saying that there is only one great manager called Fegan in the MSFL and his first name is Lee.

"Where will we finish next season? We showed this year that we are a very hard team to beat and we sure love a challenge. Jack and I know exactly what we want to achieve next year. All our players want to play every game and take Temple Fortune to the top league. Will it be back-to-back promotions for us? That would be lovely but you have to be realistic and take one game at a time; so only time will tell but always aim high."

Morris said: "Ever since I joined the club as a player in 2008, I could see they were such a great club to be involved with. The effort club chairman Nigel Kyte puts in is second to none, and he makes life for everyone else at the club so easy.

"I loved playing last season, and being part of the title winning squad was a really great feeling, however I always thought if the opportunity came to help in any way running the side it was something I'd love to get involved with.

"As soon as Lee phoned me a couple of weeks ago to ask if I'd consider joining him in managing the team, I jumped at the opportunity. I still plan to register as a player in case of emergency, but my main role will be assisting Lee in running the 1st team. Various injuries caught up with me last season so this is perfect for me.

"We have such a fantastic group of players here at Temple Fortune, and the spirit within the team is the best I have ever been involved with during my time in the MSFL. Everyone gets on well, and they are all willing to fight for each other on the pitch.

"Our main aim at first will be to ensure we keep the core of this squad together, and once that is sorted we will go out looking for top players to come in and supplement an already superb squad.

"I think it would be arrogant of me to say we will win Division One next season after only getting promotion this year, but I can safely say we will give it our absolute best shot and we will not go out there simply looking to stay up.

"We want to compete at the top end of the table and try and get this club into the Premier League, where I believe they deserve to be.

"One final thing I must say is a massive thanks to Andy Souber for leaving us with such a great squad of players to inherit. He did magnificently last year in guiding us to the title and we hope he can still be involved with the first team one way or another this season, even if it's only to come down and watch a few matches."

Gavin Levy and Rob Jay have also stepped down from their roles as managers of Fortune B.
