Ben Gilbey is confident FC Team A can achieve a mid-table finish after winning a five-goal thriller against Oakwood A.

The Oaks suffered a cup hangover as they were edged out by strikes from David Joseph Cohen, Yoav Lebens and Eitan Ben Zion sealing the points for the visitors. Jonny Quinn and Josh Rose found the net for the Oaks.

FC Team head coach Ben Gilbey told JC Sport: "Sunday's game was a real battle that we came out on top of. Our shape over the last few weeks has been absolutely fantastic, making it so hard for other teams to break us down.

"Credit really goes to the FC Team boys for this, as it is something we have worked on and spoken about repeatedly, now it is coming good.

"I think that Oakwood A expected an easier game on the weekend but certainly did not get that and frustrations were showing, especially through some really poor tackles which the Weisz brothers of FC Team were never going to stand for. The referee managed to control the game really well, so credit to him for that.

"We have now had two wins on the trott and after a hard couple of months it has been really important. I look at the league now and see that getting to that mid-table point is not too far away.

"At the start of the season our aims were to just stay up. Now we are pushing for that mid-table spot and firmly believe that it is possible to get there."
