Hyde Park Rangers are facing a hefty fine from the Football Association after red mist descended over Yorkshire once again.

Not even a torrential downpour could dampen the tempers as the Leeds University side had yet another player sent off during their 2-0 over Westdene 2nds following Adam Fletcher's dismissal for two bookable offences.

Rangers have come under intense scrutiny in the past week after Bobby Abrahams and Jason Wise were red carded in their opening day win over Manchester Maccabi 3rds.

The fine could put the club's finances into jeopardy and assistant manager David Domb is planning to hold a team meeting to curb further outbreaks.

"We're going to have to talk to them about their discipline because we really can't afford to get players sent off every week," said Domb.

"I think that on this occasion the red card was a bit harsh but other than that I felt the referee had an excellent game and let it flow.

"We have a lot of important games coming up and we need everyone available.

"Phillip Braham and I will address the issue with the lads and hopefully sort it out."

Despite their disciplinary problems, Rangers recorded their second consecutive win of the season thanks to goals from captain Oli Grant and Ben Roback's deflected strike.

Rovers will put their unbeaten record on the line against Westdene's 1st team on Sunday and their manager Steve Davis reckons his side can pull off a real upset.

"I think we can go there and beat them," said Davis. "When I have my full team available we're a real match for anybody. We've lost Ben Rose to injury and Brett Howarth has moved to Israel but we've got some new players in and I think we can beat them."

Davis's men were beaten 7-3 by South Manchester Sports Club 2nds with Ben Peppi grabbing four goals in a superb solo performance.

Simon Davis added two more and Jonny Tenzer another as South Manchester came from a goal down to claim the points.

But Davis was left encouraged by his side's display and revealed it was only the wing wizardry of Peppi which proved the difference.

Davis said: "Ben Peppi was superb and really won the game on his own for them. He is a class player and Ben Polak at the back was different class too. But my boys competed brilliantly and we'll give Hyde Park a real good game."

Elsewhere, Crumpsall's miserable start to the season continued after they suffered a 7-0 defeat at Sporting JLGB in another downpour.

Josh Taylor scored twice, while Uri Steinberg, Saul Davies, Danny Jacobs, Adam Schwinger and Jamie Bowden also got on the scoresheet.

A hat-trick from debutant Leon Huller earned South Manchester Maccabi Sports Club 1st a 3-3 draw at Lawds in the Manchester Accountants League Premier Division.

Trailing 3-0 after 20 minutes, South fought back to claim a point. With just 20 minutes remaining, Huller pulled a goal back after a defensive mix-up before volleying home a stunning strike. With Lawdes holding on for dear life, Huller capped a remarkable performance by grabbing a dramatic equaliser.
