The efforts of some of the MGBSFL's unsung heroes are often over-looked, but not here, as I recognise the achievements of players who really stepped up their game in season 2015/16.
1. ADAM SIMON (Catford & Bromley Maccabi) - "stepped in when regular Guy Ben Aroya got injured and has been an ever-present since. First season playing 11-a-sideand made a habit of producing world-class saves"
2. BEN PORTNOI (Faithfold B) - "whether going forward or defending very reliable, does the simple things well and gets the odd goal, what more do you want from a full-back?"
3. JAMES MILMAN (FC Team C) - "been superb this season and hugely improved from last season. Has made the left-back spot his own with some great runs forward, crucial interceptions and has become a stronger communicator and player"
4. TAL COHEN (Catford & Bromley) - "started the season as a bench/squad player but showed the right attitude in training and is now arguably the first name on the team sheet – a real ball playing centre-back who at a very young age will get better and better"
5. DANIEL ALDERMAN (Redbridge JC B) - "at the start of the season, was unsure where he would fit in the team. But through effort and attitude has fit into centre-back role brilliantly. Has developed a great partnership Dan Andrews, and very much look forward to next season with these two at the back"
6. MARTIN SALES (Woodford Wanderers) - "No one - not even Jerome and Daryl Kay - expected him to play as much as he did, but he made his position his own over the course of the season, got himself a goal which was richly deserved and he never left the pitch without giving 110 per cent"
7. DANIEL BEAN (Redbridge JC B) - "- the Carlos Tevez of Redbridge in the middle of the park. He is by far the hardest working player of both RJC squads and is a great example to both teams"
8. JOSH ROSE (Oakwood A) - "never looked back after his substitute appearance against Hendon in September. Outstanding season making the attacking midfield/forward position his own. Combative and never shy of a tackle. Great season for Josh"
9. JOSH FLAX (Scrabble FC) - "ball-winner and holding midfielder has been outstanding all season and does not stop running for 90 minutes. Got better and better as the season progressed and is the perfect midfield partner for Elliot Espinoza
10. JOHN KAY (L’Equipe) - "what a legend, one of the most popular members of the squad and despite suffering a number of injuries always gave 110 per cent and played a crucial role in a number of goals throughout the season"
11. DAVID FIALKA (Redbridge JC B) - "had not played 11-a-side football for 12 years, but after a couple of months of hard training, has come back with bang. 13 goals for club's respective A and B-teams and is very excited for what next season will bring"
