A superb innings from master blaster Akiva Lieberman helped promotion-chasing South Manchester to a crushing 185-run victory over Salford.

Put into bat, South Manchester lost Shai Rabinovitz cheaply, but then took complete control of the match. A 230-run partnership for the second wicket between Steven Allweis and Lieberman guided them to 242 before the fall of another wicket.

Lieberman was in imperious form and hit 19 fours and six sixes in an unbeaten 158. The Salford bowlers could do nothing but watch as he completely dominated the attack.

Allweis took on the supporting role excellently and hit four fours in his 56 before falling to Wynick. Some late hitting from Filson and Dan Lieberman saw South reach an enormous 292–5 off their 40 overs. Only Salford’s Pacter came away with decent figures with 1-38 of his 10 overs.
