Republic of Mancunia 1st boss Les Blackston is expecting a tough test when his side take on Hyde Park Rovers this weekend.
Republic overcame Sporting JLGB 2-1 last Sunday to book their place in the last eight of the Harold Feldman Trophy and set up a clash with MJSL league leaders Haroldeans.
Boss Blackston is now hoping his boys can build on their recent victory by putting their Yorkshire rivals to the sword.
“It was a big win for us against Sporting and things are looking up now,” he said.
“We know Hyde Park will be a difficult side to beat because they look as if they’ve found their best team and are more settled now.
“We can’t realistically win the league but we’re going to try and upset a few teams along the way.
“Our best chance of winning something is in the cups but everyone’s feeling good at the moment.”
Blackston is expecting to be missing a few players on Sunday including key midfielder Dave Eden.
But he remains confident that Republic can claim all three points against a Rovers side desperate to maintain their championship challenge.
“I’m not sure what sort of team we’ll have out but we know we can get a result,” added Blackston.
“The lads are enjoying their football and it’s all looking bright at Republic of Mancunia.”
