MOLTEN SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS LEAGUE RESERVE DIVISION ONE
AFC DUNSTABLE 3 LONDON LIONS RESERVES 6

London Lions Reserves boosted their title hopes by hitting AFC Dunstable for six in a game where which they were far from their best in an ultimately comfortable win against their spirited hosts.

Lions started with 10 of the 11 who took to the field last week, this time not greeted by a heavy pitch but by a 3G Astroturf to add a different challenge. Dunstable certainly had one or two excellent players, but as a defensive unit struggled to keep Lions at bay. However, with Lions spurning several excellent openings, the hosts were given undue encouragement.

On 20 minutes Lions were awarded a penalty when Green burst past his man only to be crudely upended. However, a linesman's flag from a previous attack fully 30 seconds earlier, strangely was enough to convince the referee to overule his earlier decision.
