Tal Ben Haim has joined Queens Park Rangers until the end of the season.
The Israeli defender has been training with the club since early December and impressed manager Harry Redknapp.
"Tal's a great professional with vast experience and I'm confident he'll be a really useful addition to the squad," said Redknapp.
"His attitude is first class and the fact he can play anywhere across the back four is obviously a big bonus.
"He just wants to play. He's not here for the money or anything like that. He just wants to come in and do his best for the club."
Ben Haim, 30, signed in time to join the QPR squad for Saturday's FA Cup third round meeting with West Brom. He left Portsmouth in August and has not played a competitive game since representing Israel in September.
