Review: The Hurly Burly Show

articlemain

Until I saw this burlesque revival I had forgotten that the last time I went to a strip show - during a stag night - I spent most of the time slumped in my seat, a little ashamed that I was completely bored. I felt as if I had let down my entire gender.

Polly Rae and her six Hurly Burly Girlys, directed in this production by William Baker, brought back that boredom. If there was a moment of wit - visual or spoken - it would have provided the fig leaf that justified baring almost all. But there wasn't.
