You only need to look on the rails of high-street favourite haunts Zara and Topshop to have a clue about what trends we will be sporting come autumn. Savvy shoppers will know that this is prime time for buying new season stock while it is still readily available in every size and colour.
The styles of the '70s are way up there on the fashion barometer for autumn/winter collections and it seems that it's continuing to rise. While I love a fringe detail, paisley print and suede fabric, I'm feeling a little disappointed that the boho '70s vibe has yet again returned to such an extent. How many A-line denim skirts can a girl own? Quite a few it seems. Moans aside, it has to be said, the '70s look is both flattering and ageless and is probably the main reason it keeps on giving. Nostalgia sets in and we're all suddenly Ali MacGraw in maxi prairie dresses and over-the-knee boots, but it works.
Whether or not this is your style, there's simply no escaping the trend so you may as well embrace it with corduroy fabrics, skinny scarves and peasant blouses. If it's good enough for the Chloé and Burberry catwalks then who are we to question taste?
