South Manchester boss Darryl Lee is backing his boys to improve on last year's fifth place finish in the Manchester Accountants League Premier Division.
"We're a very young side with an average age of 21 so we do tend to struggle physically," Lee said.
"But we're learning all the time and I think with the squad we've got there's no reason why we shouldn't finish in the top three.
"If we can score more goals, which is something we really need to do, then we could do very well."
Key duo Toby Levi and Harvey Kaye have returned from their travelling exploits, but new signing Darren Loofe will miss the first three months of the season with a hernia problem.
