Shachar Head has been nominated for the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.

Head, 15, will discover next week if she has been short-listed for the prestigious awards ceremony which takes place in Salford next month.

She was nominated by her school after a record-breaking performance to win the teenage one class at the World Drug Free Powerlifting World Championships, as well as the JC Young Sportsperson of the Year.
