FAIRLOP FC 1 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB 8

Having been eliminated by Fairlop in the Morrison, the JC cameras turned out in force to see if lightning would strike twice, but Hendon turned on the style, with Dovi Fehler, Greg Corin, Rocky Spitzer, Zac Lewis (2) and Avi Korman easing them through.

Daniel Rosen scored a "beautiful goal at the back post" for Fairlop, with the score at 0-3 to Hendon, before the Premier Division giants registered another five times.

Hendon boss Greg Corin told JC Sport: "Once again we were down to the bare bones struggling to put together a team this week but there was a superb attitude from the first minute and I'm sure this will be the kick-start to our season that we've needed.

"We had some great players out there for Hendon this week and if we can keep the players fit and available then we will challenge as always.

"We're looking forward to the upcoming games."

Fairlop manager Aaron Dias was philosophical about the defeat and told JC Sport: "Today we decided to play our second string side as with no disrespect this cup it is the equivalent to the League Cup and we are already into the next round of the FA Cup. But credit to Hendon who went full-strength and have prioritised the smaller cups.

"The loss of David Farkash proved too much for the Boats and we really missed his pace and hold-up play down the left.

"In the end. It became men against boys but our under-16’s B team will return back to the league next week.

"They may have been eight goals at the other end but in the famous words of Arsene Wenger, ‘I did not see'.

"In full, we’ll take every positive we can out the game, which equals absolutely nothing."
