A poor batting performance saw Salford crushed by 138 runs against Foresters in the Greater Manchester Sunday Cricket League Division Three.
Playing their second game of the season, Salford lost the toss and were put into field by a good Foresters side.
An instant improvement was seen from the previous game as opening bowlers Alex Goodman (0-41) and Joshua Henry (2-23) kept the opening batsmen quiet at a rate of under four per over with J. Yates (36) dropped on 0 off the bowling of Henry.
The partnership was broken when Zack Gothelf (3-51) picked up the two quick wickets before drinks.
After the break, Foresters started to go after the Salford attack before a wicket from captain Robert Marks (1-23) broke a dangerous partnership. This was followed by an excellent spell from Moishe Steinberg (1-23) on his bowling debut as the runs start to dry up.
Some good death bowling by Henry saw more wickets tumble and the Foresters innings limited to 188-7.
Wickets fell regularly in the Salford reply as some excellent bowling performances from Foresters made scoring runs hard to come by.
Salford crumbled to 53 all out, with only Alex Goodman (16) making it to double figures. Despite the heavy loss Salford can take many positives from the game having seen a markedly improved performance with the ball.
