Redbridge Jewish Care boss Sam McCarthy has apologised to Hendon goalkeeper Russell Corin following the verbal abuse he received at the Cyril Anekstein Cup final.
Redbridge fans behind the goal, chanted cruel jibes about Corin's weight throughout a match that saw Redbridge complete the double.
Hendon manager David Garbacz said: "There were some members of Russell's family who got very upset at the level of abuse he had to endure.
"Russell himself took it on the chin and rose to the challenge. I received a letter of apology on behalf of Redbridge from Sam McCarthy which I forwarded on to the family and they accepted it.
"I found the personal abuse unnecessary and unacceptable at our level although I am sure that it was not meant to offend but they just got carried away.
"As far as we are concerned the matter is over."
Ironically, having frustrated Hendon for most of the game, Corin was named man of the match.
