Ram & Erlich survive Wimbledon marathon

articlemain

Andy Ram and Jonathan Erlich survived a five-set epic to move into the second round of the men's doubles competition at Wimbledon.

A rain-delayed match, which started on Monday and finished on Wednesday, saw the Israelis come through a gripping contest against Trent Huey and Dominic Inglot.

Having lost the first set 6-4, Ram and Erlich rallied to win the second set 6-3 before their opponents hit back to win the third 6-2.

But the Israeli pairing, whose participation at the London Olympics has just been confirmed, bounced back in style to win the last two sets 7-6 and 9-7.
