Watford Friendly League Under 9 Green Division
Pinner JFC 2 Alexander Park South 0
Pinner JFC overcame title rivals Alexander Park South in a first versus second clash in the WFL Green Division.
The big game of the weekend saw the Sky Blues apply the pressure early on and dominated the first half with some fine inter-passing between the front men combined with some stoic defending.
Three or four efforts went close before Pinner opened the scoring five minutes before the end of the first half with a sublime goal from striker Ollie Hershon, who connected with a cross from Jake Greenfield to open the Sky Blues account.
In the second period, Pinner continued to dominate which eventually paid off when captain Jordan Davies on the left wing found his way clear on goal, shooting low and the Park goal-keeper only managed to get a hand to the ball, but could not prevent it from rolling in.
The game was well contested and possibly the sternest test yet for the Sky Blues, who had two players out through illness.
Man of the match went to Dylan Tailor for his rock solid defending in the first half ensuring that his side kept their second clean sheet from three games.
