Sophie Dowson, 20, was just 1cm off her own pole vault PB when she cleared 3.90m, her best jump since 2017, in placing third at the South of England senior championships held at Lee Valley.

A little further afield, Herts Phoenix sprint specialist Eden Davis, 19, travelled to Latvia to contest his first 60m of the season in a time of 6.95.

Meanwhile, the cross country season continued for Hannah Viner and Lia Radus at the South of England championships at Parliament Hill, where they each won a silver medal with their respective teams, Highgate and Shaftesbury. Viner was the first U23 competitor - and 15th in a field of over 700 runners - to complete the 8K senior women’s race, while Radus finished fifth for the U17s.
