JC GOAL OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- AVI KORMAN (Hendon Utd) - took one touch to pluck the ball out of the air, followed by a stunning second - a volley which flew past Jake Doffman before he could move

- TOM PRAIS (HMH) - capped an excellent performance with a superbly executed strike into the corner of the net

- ALON PINHAS (Bayern Mincha) - picked up the ball in the midfield, ran through the ‘Nese defence leaving them behind and spotted the keeper off his line and lobbed him from 30 yards

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - crossfield ball from Connor Perl found Young out on left 35 yards out. He cut inside the defender and unleashed a stunning curling effort into the top bins

- OLI SADE (Los Camden A) - capped off a fine performance  with a strike of remarkable quality; he danced passed two men with outrageous tricksy and curled Home into the top corner on the angle from 25 yards, a peach of a postage stamp

- OLLIE CRAIG (ML Lions) - with the game at 1-1, Craig picked up the ball in his own half, after a clearance from a defensive corner. He ran the length of the pitch, beating two men and nearly being rugby tackled and then hit it in the bottom corner from just outside the Brady penalty box

---------------------

JC SAVE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- JAKE DOFFMAN (HMH) - SAVE 1 - brilliant one-handed diving save, low to his left at full-stretch

- JAKE DOFFMAN (HMH) - SAVE 2 - made himself big to thwart Gav Noe in a one-on-one

- JACK FRANKS (ML Lions) - match-defining penalty save in derby win over Brady

- YONI DOANI (NL Raiders Masters) - made a good save to keep Scrabble out

JC QUOTE OF THE WEEK CONTENDERS

- JORDAN SAPER (HMH) - "Credit to Avi Goldberg, who has a great bunch of boys, I don’t think there was one malicious tackle in the game. It was a real credit to both teams and the league as a whole. A final note to say that the ref, Phil Peters, and his assistants Neal and Stuart both had a great game and it allowed us to concentrate on the football"

- MAX KYTE (ML Lions) - "We needed to bounce back from our loss to HMH and we were very pleased to bag the three points. We were far from our best and if it weren’t for the incredible reflexes of Jack Franks we would have lost, including a penalty save. He’s like Messi with a pair of gloves"

- MITCH YOUNG (FC Team) - "Congrats to Hertswood it is once crazy league this year but whoever finished top will obviously deserve it. It wont be us!”

- STIRLING KAY (Los Camden A) - "There was a lot said about this game before kick off, I chose not to make any comment before the game as I wanted the boys to do the talking on the pitch. They did that today, nullifying a top Redbridge team that had a lot of experienced players I know well."

YOUR WEEKEND REVIEW STARTS HERE:

CYRIL ANEKSTEIN CUP ROUND THREE

LOS CAMDEN A 5 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE A 2

Los Camden A ended Redbridge JC A's treble hopes after coming from a goal down to book their place in the semi-finals.

RJC forged ahead inside the opening five minutes but Rob Hershkorn equalised 10 minutes later. Los Camden stormed into a 5-1 lead, with Oli Sade (2), Joe Levy and Gav Krieger finding the net before RJC claimed a second late on.

RJC's goals came via Dean Nyman and Lewis Rackham.

Los Camden are also in the last eight of the Peter Morrison Trophy and their hopes of a cup double are still on.

Proud Camden boss Stirling Kay told JC Sport: "I'm immensely proud of getting such a top result when we had eight players missing due to travel and injury. Today was all about Camden turning our dominant performance into goals, we look forward to whoever we face in the semi-final."

RJC joint-manager Sam Rank described the result as "a massive wake-up call". He told JC Sport: We go into next few games, knowing we must up the ante - to achieve our targets of league and cup success."

HMH 3 HENDON UNITED SPORTS 3

A late goal from Tom Prais ensured HMH maintained their proud unbeaten record against table-toppers Hendon United in a six-goal thriller at the Hive.

SEE VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

Hendon forged ahead via a super header from Dovi Fehler but that was quickly cancelled out by a cool finish by HMH top-scorer Oscar Wagner. With both goalkeepers - Jake Doffman of HMH and Russ Corin of Hendon - in top form, the high-flyers continued to attack with great purpose and it was HMH who went into the break ahead following a bullet header from Ariel Rahamim. Hendon bossed the second half and drew level with a goal of the week contender from the right foot of Avi Korman - he took one touch to pluck the ball out of the air before sending a sweetly-struck volley into the net from the edge of the box. Zac Lewis looked to have won it with a rising strike past Doffman, but up stepped Prais to power home a from distance.

Hendon boss Jordan Sapler told JC Sport: "There was two possible late talking points when Zack Lewis went done in the box for what looked like a clear penalty and then HMH had a goal disallowed late but I think a draw is a fair result. Credit to Avi who has a great bunch of boys, I don’t think there was one malicious tackle in the game. It was a real credit to both teams and the league as a whole. A final note to say that the ref, Phil Peters, and his assistants Neal and Stuart both had a great game and it allowed us to concentrate on the football."

MACCABI LONDON LIONS 4 BRADY MACCABI 3

Jamie Cohen and Ollie Craig bagged braces as Lions won the Rowley Lane derby after coming from a goal down to edge a seven-goal thriller.

Brady took a deserved lead through Josh Curtis after a great cross by Jayden Tomlinson, but they failed to see the half out and gifted Lions a goal just before the break. The second half started in the same way but Brady again missed clear chances and were made to pay as Lions scored twice to lead 3-1. But Brady came back and made the Lions keeper pull off some excellent saves before Scott Gordon headed  in a well deserved goal with 10 left. Dan Cohen's deflected shot then made it 3-3 with a couple to go but Lions scored with virtually the last kick of the game to nick it.

Lions joint-manager Max Kyte told JC Sport: "We needed to bounce back from our loss to HMH and we were very pleased to bag the three points. We were far from our best and if it weren’t for the incredible reflexes of Jack Franks we would have lost, including a penalty save. He’s like Messi with a pair of gloves."

Brady boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "Today is very disappointing as we bossed the first half but again failed to convert our chances and were made to pay.  We showed you can battle back but to then get back to 3-3 and then through it away in the last minute is the biggest disappointment but we now have to pick ourselves up for next Sunday against Hendon in the cup at their ground."

BAYERN MINCHA 1 JEWDINESE 2

Sam Stern and James Ross fired Jewdinese to their sixth win of the season as they closed the gap on the top three to boost their promotion hopes.

Jubilant 'Nese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "The second half was dominated by Mincha and had it not been for some great goalkeeping from Ben Halmer and solid defending from James Ross and Adam Gold, the scoreline could’ve been very different. However, it’s three more vital points and we go into next week’s game against Oakwood full of confidence of pulling off an upset."

Alon Pinhas had drawn Bayern level with a 30-yard effort. Joint-manager Daniel Holder told JC Sport: "We feel we deserved something from the game but sometimes it doesn’t always go the way we want."

HERTSWOOD VALE 5 FC TEAM 2

A deadly double from Josh Gorb ensured Hertswood Vale returned to the top of the table after getting back to winning ways against promotion rivals FC Team.

Jordan Harris, Ollie Brill and Ben Kaye were among the scorers as Vale secured their 10th win of the season.

Jubilant Vale joint-manager Jacob Emanuel told JC Sport: "We’re very happy to be on 31 points now (34 once the league table sorts itself out). It was a real gutsy performance from the boys today, and they showed immense character to come back from one goal down to dominate the game. I couldn’t fault any of the 13 that played today – two games left, and it would be awesome to get six more points on the board."

FC Team's goals came through Richard Salmon and Mitch Young as Vale registered their second 5-2 win over them this season. Player-manager Young told JC Sport: "We only have ourselves to blame. We had the quality on the pitch to win but not enough key players applied themselves."
