Meet the teams: Hendon Utd SC B

articlemain

There is an air of optimism around the Hendon United camp this year as Adam Glekin's troops look to impress, playing a new brand of football.

COMPETITIONS ENTERED: We have decided not to enter the Peter Morrison Cup after the upheaval of last year, so we will just be in the MSFL Division Two and the Cyril Anekstein Cup.

HOPES FOR SEASON: My hopes are obviously for promotion, but this will be tough. Top half would be a decent effort.

SQUAD ADDITIONS: We have made some signings to bolster the squad. Ben Blackston, Josh Richman, David Reuben, Alex Klinger, Ben David and Michael Epstein have all been added.

WHICH ONE EXCITES YOU MOST? Ben Blackston will give us some Northern steel and has a great engine on him. Josh Richman has also been excellent in pre-season and will bring some much needed composure in possession.

PLAYER OUT: We have managed to retain the majority of players who played for us last year, but club stalwart Chaim Strom has ended his long association with the club. Adam Jacobs has also departed.

ONES TO WATCH: I'm expecting a big season from Gideon Barth, who showed flashes last season but had his progress interrupted by the London Marathon. Benni Sluckis will continue to be among the goals again, and if Avi Mocton can find some consistency he'll be one of the best players in the league.

MAIN RIVALS: Very hard to tell who will be strong this year, especially with the merging of the leagues. London Lions B might well be the team to look out for. And being our old B team, I expect Real Hendon to be a threat.

CAPTAIN: James Neidle will retain the captaincy

SPONSOR: None (although we still have Kisharon on our shirts).

HOME GROUND: Chase Lodge

WHAT WILL YOUR TEAM BRING TO THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON? I hope to be one of the most attractive teams to watch in the league, I have been trying to cut out playing route one football which is so painfully common in the MSFL.
