Maccabi Masters review: February 15

It was Cup day for the Masters Football teams, with Brady A, Waldaf Town and Chigwell progressing to the next stage of the Henry Swerner Trophy MMFL Cup, sponsored by Brides by Losners.

Brady A comfortably saw off the challenge from HMH 7-1, thanks to goals from Scott Warren (4), Mark Wagman, Gabriel John and Lawrence Swerner. Neil Kochane netted HMH’s consolation.

Chigwell equalled Brady’s seven-goal haul, courtesy of Paul Gold (2), Russell Yershon (2), Jaimie Sinclair, Alex Levack and Danny Hakimi as they routed Hendon Harriers 7-0.

Waldaf Town registered their third win of the season against Faithfold, though the latest meeting was the closest, with strikes from Alex Bourne and Hezi Yechiel sealing a 2-1 win. Ben Simons replied for Faithfold.

In the Nathan Horwitz MMFL Division 2 Cup, Glenthorne made it through to the semi-finals at the expense of Brady B in a 12-goal thriller. Despite goals from Martin Schultz (2), Ian Sumray and an own goal, Brady went down 8-4.

And holders EDRS beat Marshside 2-1 with goals from Ian Leader and Paul Herszaft, with Dan Cuby replying for Zig Zag Marshside.
