London Maccabi Vale finish season with 100 per cent record

The team was led by captain Jonathan Albert, who scored 194 runs at an average of 64.66 in five matches. He was supported by Sam Feigenbaum and Joseph Davidson, who ensured LMVCC posted scores in excess of 100 when batting first in their 20 overs-a-side matches. There were also excellent cameos during the season, including Harry Weineger (44 not out) against Southgate and Oscar Stevens, who hit 50 not out against Botany Bay.

With the consistent high scores posted, the bowlers were able to exert pressure on the opposition. Jacob Caro was the stand-out performer and leading wicket-taker. He took 10 wickets at an average of 4.20 per wicket, supported by Sam Feigenbaum (5) at an average of 5.20, Joseph Davidson (7) at an average of 6.42, Nathan Gellman (7) at an average 14.20.

Lewis Dobkin also caught the eye with a superb display of 3-12 against Botany Bay, while Albert took five stumpings as wicket keeper.

Players from all three LMV colts teams - U11s and U13s included - received trophies for individual and team achievements at the annual father/son tournament.

Reflecting on the colts season, LMV chairman Alex Haffner said: “Last Sunday’s tournament and awards were what London Maccabi Vale CCC is all about – providing a place for Jewish cricketers of all ages to play the game.

"It was also a celebration of all the hard work put in by our colts managers Tony Wise, Jon Feigenbaum and Danny Car,o who have ensured that all of our teams have not only performed admirably, but also done so in the right spirit.

"We are particularly proud of the U15 team who went through the whole season unbeaten, a club record which bodes well for the future.”
