HERTS SENIOR COUNTY LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
LONDON LIONS 5 EVERGREEN 0
London Lions scored five goals at home for the third time this season after a comprehensive win over newly promoted side Evergreen.
The hosts bossed the early stages with good possession and forced the Evergreen keeper into some smart saves. As the half went on Evergreen got a foothold in the game and looked dangerous from set-pieces, but with five minutes remaining of the half Lions went ahead after a good move involving Jake Rinsler and Josh Kennet allowed Max Kyte to hammer home his fifth goal in four games.
Lions flew out of the blocks at the start of the second half and within 45 seconds were two up after a neat finish from captain Kennet.
At times, the football was excellent and Lions were soon further ahead after a free kick from the impressive Charlie Kasler.
Three soon became four after good work from the returning TJ Keterman who rolled in Kennet for his second of the afternoon, and to round the day off Keterman then scored himself with a great finish into the bottom right-hand corner.
Lions manager Andy Landesberg said: “That was the reaction I wanted after Tuesday’s defeat at Cuffley. I thought the boys were excellent and our second-half performance was the best 45 mins of the season.
"We had so many positives today with Jake Furman putting in another top display - he is very quickly becoming an important part of this team.
"The back four kept another clean sheet. The returning Kasler and Keterman both getting on the scoresheet, Max Kyte and Kennet scoring again.
"It's very early stages but things are starting to gel. We now have a very tough game away at Wingate on Tuesday evening."
