MJSL COMMUNITY SHIELD
LEEDS MACCABI 2 HAROLDEANS 0
Nick Vale and Oshri Amar helped Leeds Maccabi lift the MJSL Community Shield.
Vale and Amar struck in either half to down Haroldeans in the season’s curtain-raiser at Frederick Road.
The Yorkshire club became the fifth different name on the trophy in as many years to underline they will be a force to be reckoned with this term.
Haroldeans could have no complaints as they crashed here.
Tim Zoltie had already come close Leeds before Vale drew first blood on the half-hour mark
The striker swept home after good work on the right wing James Landes to put Leeds into the ascendancy.
Haroldeans shaded the start of the second-half with Adam Shiffman coming the closest to a leveller.
The midfielder was foiled by Leeds goalkeeper Louis Abrahamson – and they were made to pay when Amar sealed the win.
Vale capped an impressive display by laying on the chance for Amar to stroke home in the 70th minute.
