Beram Kayal has agreed terms to sign for Brighton & Hove Albion, subject to a work permit.
The Israel midfielder looks set to join the Championship club on a two-and-a-half year deal for an undisclosed fee, after passing a medical.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton believes the Celtic man will add another dimension to his team who were beaten 3-2 in the FA Cup by holders Arsenal.
"We're delighted to have agreed a deal for someone of Beram's stature," Hughton told the Brighton FC website. He's got plenty of experience with Celtic, and is an Israeli international.
"He's a good age and a player who is really dynamic in midfield.
"He can play a few role, including holding midfield, but he also has the energy to break forward."
Update: Kayal received his work permit this week.
