Jonathan Kaplan has been given a three-week break from refereeing duty following his role in the infamous 'ballgate' episode.
The South African official was at the centre of the scandal during Wales' Six Nations victory over Ireland after mistakenly allowing Mike Phillips' try to stand. Phillips scored after Wales had taken a quick lineout using a different ball to the one that was kicked out of play, which is against the laws of game.
Kaplan, the most capped Test referee, will now sit out the next three rounds of Super Rugby competition in Australia.
