LONDON FA SUNDAY CHALLENGE CUP
FC TRIPIMENI 3 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB A 1
Hendon bowed out of the LFASCC after a great battle against FC Tripimeni on Holloway Road.
In the end, a strike from Jacob Gold proved little more than consolation for last season's treble winners.
Hendon manager David Garbacz told JC Sport: "We were really unfortunate not to come away with the right result today. Our opposition were of an enormously high quality, but for many periods of the game we were totally dominant.
"The difference was in the finishing - we created numerous chances but only managed to score once and they scored three quality goals from far fewer openings.
"We found ourselves 2-0 down at half time despite more than holding our own and we came out in the second with belief that we could turn it around.
"We got one back through Jacob early on and then piled on the pressure for the rest of the half - hitting the post twice and forcing any number of saves.
"Unfortunately we switched off for one moment and we allowed them to score a third which gave us a mountain to climb as we had to play with 10 after we had used our subs and then Jacob Gold went off with a hamstring injury.
"I was incredibly proud of the boys today and I hope we were a big credit to our league."
DC Prediction: FC Tripimeni 2 Hendon 1

HAT-TRICK HEROES PUT LIONS IN 7TH HEAVEN
LOS BLANCOS 0 LONDON MACCABI LIONS A 7
Hat-tricks from MIKE PEARSON and LORIAN MADANES helped Lions A finally break down the resistance of second division Blancos to finish in seventh heaven.
Captain marvel Yoav Lebens completed the job.
Lions joint-manager Josh Newman told JC Sport: "We struggled to break them down first half, but in the second we were able to get some goals to make the game comfortable."
DC Prediction: Los Blancos 0 Lions 5

WONDERFUL WOODFORD PROGRESS
WOODFORD WANDERERS 4 REDBRIDGE JEWISH CARE B 1
Woodford Wanderers won the Essex derby hands down as they proved too strong for second division Redbridge B, claiming their first win of the season.
A hat-trick from JAMES RYAN, each one set up by left winger Paul Biller, plus a goal of the week contender from Joe Sumray, his first in Woodford colours, rounded off an impressive team performance.

OAKWOOD LATE SHOW SEALS FIRST LEAGUE WIN
BRADY MACCABI 1 OAKWOOD A 2
A close-range finish from Josh Rubin five minutes of time saw Oakwood claim their first league win of the season following an epic battle against Brady at Rowley Lane.
It was a very even game throughout the 90 minutes, with Brady probably edging the first half despite both teams hitting the woodwork.
Brady took the lead midway through the second half when Ben Joseph scored from 30 yards with a wonderful right foot strike.
However, the lead lasted all of one minute when Brady were exposed down the middle and gave away a penalty, which Josh Bentley put away after Oli Colmans had tipped his initial effort onto te crossbar.
Both teams went looking for a winner and it was Oakwood who found it with five mins to go when Brady failed to clear the ball and Rubin pounced to score.
Brady continued to try and find an equaliser but couldn't as time run out.
Disappointed Brady boss Joel Nathan told JC Sport: "Did I think we deserved to lose the game? No I didn't, especially after the chances we created. However, if you don't take advantage of them you will be made to pay which was the case today.
"We have played Oakwood twice this season and you can see why they are unbeaten as they are a strong outfit who will be difficult to break down.
"Roll on Faithfold next week."
DC Prediction: Brady 1 Oakwood 1

HERSHKORN'S THE HERO FOR BRIXTON
BRIXTON OLD BOYS 4 NORTH LONDON RAIDERS A 2
Two goals from Alon Hershkorn helped Brixton condemn Raiders to their third league defeat following a six-goal thriller at Clowes.
Further strikes from Rob Blackman and Michael Posner put the icing on the cake.
Brixton stormed into a 2-0 lead within the opening five minutes. Hershkorn put them ahead with a fine solo effort - sprinting from the halfway line - before Blackman doubled the advatange.
The home side then missed two more great chances to extend the lead before Raiders hit back, scoring through David Dinkin after 23 minutes and an own goal a minute before the break to draw level.
Brixton regained the upper hand in the second half when Hershkorn netted his second of the game on 52 minutes and Posner clinched the points with a simple tap-in.
Jubilant Brixton boss John Nitka told JC Sport: "I was without my two centre backs so George Fierstone and Jamie Gurvitz took over and were immense.
"With Ben Weinberg back in his first game of the season and Ben Goldberg running the midfield, it was hard for Raiders to get through.
"Once again Jake Doffman was immense, in what was another great display from the whole team."
DC Prediction: Brixton 1 Raiders 2

FC TEAM TWO GOOD FOR 10-MAN FAITHFOLD
FC TEAM A 2 FAITHFOLD A 0
Leaders Faithfold tasted defeat for the first time this season as they were outfoxed by FC Team at Meadow Park.
FC Team's goals came through Jonny Breger and Declan Selbo.
Breger opened the scoring after Marc Harris was fouled in the box and supersub Selbo scored with a bullet header from a Danny Moss corner.
FC Team's Jonny Pearl, who was standing in for absent manager Mitch Young, told JC Sport: "I thought we were excellent today, right from the start. It was clear our players were focused and wanted to win the game and that came across in our play.
"The attitude and determination we showed was incredible and we thoroughly deserved the three points.
"We are getting stronger with each game and it's a joy to be working with these lads. Today showed that we are a match for anyone in this division and we are here to challenge."
Faithfold boss Zuriel Solomon told JC Sport: "I'm very disappointed. It was a game we dominated in the first half. We were then reduced to 10 men following a professional four by Alex Taylor was sent off. They scored from the resulting penalty and played well in the second half as we pushed for an equaliser, they scored the 2nd with 5 remaining to kill the game."
DC Prediction: FC Team A 1 Faithfold A 2

RJC skipper Adam Hakimi told JC Sport: "Stevie Gevertz who was in goal for us today, saved a crucial penalty on the stroke of half time to keep us 2-0 up.
"He dedicates the save to his Grandma and one of our biggest fans Anita who turned 80 today."

FAITHFOLD B 4 TEMPLE FORTUNE A 2
Richard Winton, Matty Kleinman and Philip Braham were among the scorers as Faithfold B ran out 4-2 winners over Fortune.
Craig Edwards and Brett Stead were on the money for Fortune.
Fortune's Mike Shorvon said: "This was a very disappointing performance against a team we were looking to beat. We just weren't at the races today and gave away some sloppy goals. A few players did not play well at all and we got what we deserved."
DC Prediction: Faithfold B 2 Temple Fortune A 1

THORNES BACK TO WINNING WAYS
GLENTHORNE UNITED A 2 LONDON MACCABI LIONS B 1
As predicted, Glenthorne ran out 2-1 winners against Lions B at Ford Sports & Social, thanks to strikes from Scott Jay and Daniel Lipman as the east Londoners maintained their two point lead at the top.
Thornes boss Sam Rosenthal told JC Sport: "I'm delighted to be back to winning ways. Lions made it very difficult, but I thought we were excellent all over the pitch and fully deserved the three points."
Lions manager Jamie Kyte told JC Sport: "It was a really good battle against Glenthorne. As usual it was well fought, but on the day they played better football than us.
"We nearly got a late goal in the dying minutes but it wasn't meant to be."
DC Prediction: Glenthorne A 2 Lions B 1

HORNETS COME BACK TO STING HARMEN
HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB B 2 SOUTHGATE HARMEN 1
Hendon B maintained their excellent start to the season with a 2-1 victory over Southgate Harmen in west Hendon.
Hendon's goals came through new signing Avi Markiewicz and joint-player-manager Chaim Gothold.
A delighted Gothold told JC Sport: "It was a good result for us. We took time to get into the game and went 1-0 down after Alon Blitz did his hamstring and their striker had a free run on goal.
"However, on came James Joseph, who was outstanding. With him leading from the back, we built a foothold in the game and went into half time 2-1 up.
"We worked hard in the second half and saw the game out.
"Credit to Harmen, they are a good team and a nice bunch of lads."
DC Prediction: Hendon B 3 Southgate Harmen 1

SUPER SHIRLEY WIN NINE-GOAL THRILLER
SHIRLEY PARK 5 NORTH WEST NEASDEN A 4
Shirley Park won an extraordinary nine-goal thriller, with two goals from Stefan Benfredj helping them over the line.

FIVE-STAR CAMDEN ROLL UJIA
UJIA 3 CAMDEN PARK 5
Camden Park stormed to a thrilling 5-3 success over UJIA at Chase Lodge.
Mike Khalastchi, Josh Toff, Luke Brookner, Richard Silver and Dan Baneth were the goal men for Camden.
A hat-trick from ASSI AVITAL proved in vain for UJIA.
Camden's Nick Kagan told JC Sport: "4-0 at half time after a slick performance was enough, but sloppy and not good enough in the second half. UJIA actually stopped moaning for long enough to get involved in the match!
"They were extremely lucky to have 11 men on the pitch, their no. 10 seemed to be doing everything he could to get sent off.
"10-4 on aggregate over the two games probably fair. We finished with 10 after Khalastchi limped off, worrying. Four wins on the bounce though, huge game next week against the Thorns."
UJIA player-manager Darren Rolfe told JC Sport: "4-0 down at half time and we thought it could be rout!
"Hell no, still without a win but still believe in our team. Assi's quickfire hat-trick put us back in contention even though it wasn't enough.
"We can take pride in winning the second half 3-1, but won't claim many points for that unfortunately."
DC Prediction: UJIA 1 Camden Park 3

BATTLING THORNES LEAVE IT LATE
BLIZZARD STORM 1 GLENTHORNE UNITED B 2
Glenthorne B claimed an impressive win at Blizzard thanks to strikes from the red-hot Ryan Cole and Jay Lawrence.
Thornes joint-player-manager Liam Stein told JC Sport: "We battled and performed well today as the pitch wasn't great but we managed to play positive football at times.
"We left it late to seal the victory but was well deserved after we didn't convert a number of chances."
DC Prediction: Blizzard Storm 1 Glenthorne B 1

TOP CAT BLAIN SAVES NEASDEN'S BACON
NORSTAR B 2 NORTH WEST NEASDEN B 3
Leaders Neasden B needed the heroics of keeper Jonny Blain to earn them victory against a plucky Norstar B.
In the end, strikes from summer signings James Abrams and Bobby Abrams plus former player-manager Louis Taylor saw them home.
Sam Levin bagged a brace for Norstar.
NWN player-boss Adam Levene told JC Sport: "It was an awful performance in the first half, with an improvement in the second."
Norstar manager David Lubczanski told JC Sport: "It was massively disappointing against NWN B. We went in at half time 1-0 up and by far the better team thanks to a great finish from Sam Levin. To lose the game 3-2, having been on top for large parts, was massively disappointing.
"The team is taking shape and is playing great football, but we must start to be more ruthless, otherwise it is going to be a struggle."
DC Prediction: Norstar B 0 Neasden B 3

BRADY RUE THEIR LUCK
NORTH LONDON RAIDERS B 0 BRADY MACCABI B 0
Defences dominated at Brunel as Raiders B and Brady B finished honours even in a clash between two of the promoted teams.
Brady boss Josh Dagul told JC Sport: "We did everything but score. It was one of those days, we hit the bar three times, the post and missed two open goals.
"Raiders almost nicked it at the end too on the counter had it not been for a phenomenal diving goal line clearance from our centre back, Sam Frohlich.
"We will need to be more clinical if we are to win the league this year."
DC Prediction: Raiders B 2 Brady B 3

TEN-MAN TEAM COME BACK TO BEAT NINE MAN HENDON
FC TEAM C 2 HENDON UNITED SPORTS CLUB C 1
There were three red cards as tempers spilled over in the closing stages as FC Team C overcame Hendon C 2-1.
Hendon took a deserved first half lead via an Alex Elf penalty after he had been brought dow, but FC Team hauled themselves back on level terms after 70 minute before going on to score the winner 10 minutes from time.
With stoppage time approaching, a scuffle between the Hendon keeper and an FC Team forward resulted in Hendon being shown two red cards and Team one.
A Hendon spokesman told JC Sport: "Overall Hendon more than matched FC Team, but tired legs led to two goals being conceded.
"It was disappointing we lost discipline at end, although it takes two to tango."
DC Prediction: FC Team C 2 Hendon C 2

FOUR-MIDABLE OAKS CRUSH TOTTENHAM
OAKWOOD B 4 TOTTENHAM CHUTSPAH 1
A first-half super show enabled Oakwood to win the top of the table clash in front of the JC cameras, much to the delight of manager Ian Tussie.
It was a fantastic performance from the Oaks who stormed into a 3-0 lead at half time, with a great goal by Dave Eden who hit a beauty from 25 yards after a smart lay off from Matt Geey.
The second wasn't far behind, another great goal this time from Carl Peters following another pass from Matt Geey; Peters took a touch and fired in from outside the box aided by a slight deflection.
It was three before half time with as good a goal as you'll see at this level of football. Peters brought it down on his massive man chest in the middle of the park, set the Oaks off on a lovely move resulting in Ben Polak scoring his first non-headed goal since 1998 with a curler from outside the box. Oaks were in dreamland.
Chutzpah pulled one back through top-scorer Jono Gaon early in second half, although the legality of the goal was questionable as their forward controlled with his hand and finished passed coolly.
The game descended into a bit of a farce soon after as the Oaks were reduced to 10 men when Vic Librae was sent off for retaliating to a stray elbow.
Under pressure, Oaks had their back four and more so their keeper Oren Hury to thank for keeping their two-goal cushion in act with a couple of excellent saves.
The game was dead and buried soon after though, with Nicky Harris nodding in following a barnstorming run and cross from Peters, reminiscent of Yaya Toure.
It was a well deserved win for the oaks who were outstanding all over the park today.
Oakwood manager Ian Tussie told JC Sport: "Vic Librae, celebrating his engagement, received a card from the ref, unfortunately it was a red one!
"We were excellent today against a good team with plenty of talented young players who will do well this season, but I knew once we got the fourth it would be ain keloiheunu adon olam for them."
Tottenham Chutspah manager Ariel Tamman told JC Sport: "I was very disappointed with the result. We were playing sloppy football in the first quarter of the match which gave them a three-goal lead and lost us the three points we needed.
"I am just looking to the future at the moment and as a team we will fix our mistakes and play better football. We are still confident that we are in the title race, as its only early days one loss doesn't ruin our chances of winning the league by any means."
Victory lifts the Oaks three points clear at the summit.
DC Prediction: Oakwood B 2 Tottenham Chutspah 1

JEWVE HIT NORSTAR FOR SIX
NORSTAR C 3 JEWVENTUS 6
Jewventus claimed their first win of the season after finally finding their shooting boots.
Doubles from Gab John and James Alexander plus one apiece from Gab Saul and Mark Martell did the trick for Jewventus.
Norstar new boy Dan Tannenbaum bagged a brace, with Nick Haringman grabbing the third.
Jewve boss Gabriel John told JC Sport: "Today I hope we have turned the corner. Even starting with 11 again, we dominated the first 45, going in at half time 5-1 up.
"It was a strong performance, only tarnished when we got tired last 20."
Norstar manager Zack Gothelf told JC Sport: "Having had high hopes for today's game, Norstar C left frustrated again as defensive lapses saw them fall 5-1 down by half time.
"A much much better second half saw us pull it back to 6-3 and had we taken the wealth of our chances in the second half then Norstar could have come away with something from the game.
"Norstar can take the positives of a good strong comeback and a double on debut for Dan Tan, recently transferred from FC Team C. New signing Will Ufland also looked like he'll make a difference for Norstar. Norstar also started to play much more as a team as the game went on.
"We have a tough game next weekend but one we'll look to as our next challenge."
DC Prediction: Norstar 3 Jewventus 3

AC MILL HILL DISAPPOINTED AFTER SCORE DRAW
TEMPLE FORTUNE B 1 AC MILL HILL 1
Promotion hopefuls Temple Fortune B and AC Mill Hill finished honours even after a great battle in Pinner.
Top-scorer Ben Zloof was the marksman for Mill Hill in a game they fell behind in following another goal from Fortune player-manager Terry Jeffries.
Mill Hill boss Joe Levy told JC Sport: This was out toughest game of the season against a strong Fortune side.
"We started slowly and conceded a sloppy goal. Second half we dominated but couldn't find a winner despite heaping the pressure on.
"We are disappointed not to have picked up three points, but remain undefeated and hope to rectify the result when we host Fortune next week."
Fortune boss Terry Jeffries commented:: "It was good all-round performance and a creditble result. David Sawyer was outstanding and my man of the match."
DC Prediction: Temple Fortune B 1 AC Mill Hill 2

RELIEF ALL-ROUND AS BOCA WIN AT LAST
BOCA JEWNIORS 3 LOUGHTON ORIENT 1
Congratulations to Boca Jewniors who won their first league game in a year and a half after overcoming Loughton Orient 3-1.
Two goals from player-manager Jamie Weinrich plus a penalty from Yaakov Goldin sealed a memorable win.
After half time it was all Orient and their pressure was rewarded when player-manager Dan Curtis coolly slotted home a penalty to make it 2-1, but Boca made the game safe to spark mass celebrations.
Boca Keeper Ryan Monk told JC Sport: "I was glad to have my least busiest day in goal, at times i didnt know what to do!"
Loughton Orient player-manager Dan Curtis told JC Sport: "We started too slowly and gifted them a headstart which we could never quite claw back.
"I'm proud of the effort the boys put in after playing with 10 men for most of the game. We need to put this game behind us and concentrate on getting back on track next week."
DC Prediction: Boca Jewniors 1 Loughton Orient 4
