Israeli players will be allowed to take part in the next Fifa Club World Cup championship after host city Abu Dhabi signed an agreement for the December event.
The move will ensure that the controversy that followed Dubai’s refusal to allow tennis player Shahar Peer is not repeated.
Fifa chief Sepp Blatter would not agree to the showpiece final being staged until the agreement was signed. The ruling means that Liverpool’s Yossi Benayoun and Chelsea’s Ben Sahar could travel to Abu Dhabi if either team wins the Champions League.
