Adam Glekin believes tougher battles lie ahead after Hendon got off to the perfect start as they hit Boca for five on the opening day of the season.
Hendon were on the front foot straight from the off, and passed the ball around nicely on the slick Chase Lodge surface. Chances came and went, but finally the deadlock was broken on the half hour mark as Gideon Barth's cross-come shot was turned into his own net by a Boca defender.
Hendon deservedly doubled their lead shortly after, and Barth was once again the provider as his cross was turned in at the back post by opposite winger Jono Nesbitt.
Boca came into the game more in the second half but struggled to create many clear-cut chance against a solid Hendon backline. And the game was effectively killed off as a contest when Glen Turner's charging run from right back was halted in the area, and captain James Neidle stepped up to convert the spot kick.
A second penalty was awarded minutes later, and Neidle generously stepped aside to allow Ben David to score on his return to the club. Barth put the icing on the cake near the end with the goal of the game, as he dribbled through the Boca backline and produced a marvellous finish.
Hendon manager Adam Glekin told JC Sport: "I couldn't have asked for a better start to the season.
"I thought the first half we were absolutely magnificent, it was one of the best halves of football we've played under my management. Our passing was excellent and we dominated all over the pitch.
"Gideon Barth and Jono Nesbitt terrorised them on the wings, but it was an all round excellent team effort. Despite scoring more goals in the second half, I felt we dropped off a little bit but that would be nitpicking.
"No disrespect to Boca but I'm sure there will be tougher tests ahead so we won't be getting too carried away - although I'll enjoy being top of the league for a week!"
Boca boss Gabriel John kept things short but sweet in his pre-match press conference. "They played well. We didn't. End of story."
