Zack Gothelf has warned his Oakhill side not to underestimate the challenge of winless Leeds Maccabi 3rd this weekend.
Oakhill are unbeaten in their past six outings and are just a point off second with a game in hand.
Leeds have lost six out of seven so far this term but Gothelf is expecting a tough test against Alex Ullmann’s side.
“We’re playing really well at the moment and I’m delighted with the lads but we know Leeds will be a difficult game," he said.
“We played Broughton who also hadn’t won a game, but came through 3-1 even if people would have expected us to win by more.
“They gave us a really tough match and I’m sure Leeds will do the same.”
Lions are beginning to click into gear following their opening day defeat by Haroldeans and Gothelf believes success is just around the corner.
“We’re always playing catch-up at the start of the season as we’re a university side, “ he added.
“I really believe that had we played Haroldeans later in the season and not on the opening day then we would have got at least a point.
“They’re a long way ahead but there are lots of games to go and nothing has been decided yet.
“I think realistically our best chance of winning something is in the cup competitions but we’re not giving up in the league.
“The team are all playing together now and we look more organised than at the start of the season.
“It’s all going really well and hopefully it will continue on Sunday.”
