Gary Ellis will spearhead Maccabi GB's six-man ten-pin bowling squad at July's European Maccabi Games in Vienna.

Ellis was the most successful British athlete at the 2007 EMG in Rome where he brought home five medals including three golds.

Ian Davis will captain the squad that welcomes debutants Russ Snipper and Darren Sassienie, who average 191 and 194 in the Maccabi League .

Matthew Plax, MGB's ten-pin bowling chairman, has warned against complacency. He said: "Whilst the team was highly successful in Vienna, competition will be far more intense this year, with Maccabi USA sending a team to a European Games for the first time. There is also a chance that Australia and Israel will compete so we need to be at our best."
