Julia Glushko won her first-ever Challenger tournament after cruising past Britain’s Johanna Konta.
Glushko, who was born in the Ukraine, beat Konta to win the Lexington Challenger following an impressive straight sets victory over Madison Keys in the semi-finals. Victory for the Israeli saw her climb up the WTA rankings from 220 to 173.
She has been in top form in recent weeks and reached the finals of the Waterloo Challenger and Granby Challenger tournaments in Canada.
She finished 2011 at career high of 165 but had struggled for form.
