Dov Gilbert and Johnny Goldstone maintained Leeds Maccabi’s treble bid after seeing off Haroldeans in the Shonn Trophy.

Now they will turn to sealing the first-leg of their trophy hunt and they hope to lift the MJSL title on Sunday.

A win over Oakhill Lions will be enough for the Yorkshire side to clinch the championship.

With that in mind, Leeds rested some key players but still ended up 2-1 winners against Haroldeans, who netted via Jonathan Harris.

Leeds boss Daniel Kristal said: "We won’t take anything for granted and will stay professional. The aim is to win the league and then concentrate on the achieving the clean sweep."

Goldstone netted the winner against the Merseysiders but it was Gilbert who won praise.

Kirstall added: "It was Dov’s first goal of the season. He is Mr Consistent. He doesn’t usually get a mention but he offers us so much in midfield."

Meanwhile, a hat-trick from Roy Fux helped Maccabi Manchester Yellow to a 5-2 win over Maccabi Manchester Blue in the Tony Cohen Cup. They will now meet Reich Insurance Rangers in the two-legged semi-final.
