Rami Gershon is looking forward to the prospect of Champions League football after joining SPL giants Celtic on a six-month loan deal from Standard Liege.

Gershon was signed to replace Efi Ambrose who will represent Nigeria at the Africa Cup of Nations and could line up against Juventus next month.

Celtic have the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season. The player will join Neil Lennon's squad at their winter camp in Spain once his work permit comes is granted.

Gershon said: "I'm very happy to sign for this fantastic club and I'm ready for the great challenge."
