Garcia is cock-a-hoop

articlemain

Rising star Sammy Garcia has signed for QPR.

Garcia, 8, of Radlett will represent the club's Under 9 team.

A pupil at Radlett Prep, Garcia came through a six-week trial and his busy schedule will include training on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as matches on Sundays.

He is a product of the Excel academy which includes a Sunday League run by Adam Lustigman. Prior to joining QPR, he had been training at the Spurs Development Centre.

During his time with the Loftus Road club, he has played against Crystal Palace, Fulham, Southend, Brighton and Leyton Orient.

Proud dad Simon, who is a Spurs fan, said: "He's really enjoying it and is developing all the time. He's a very conscientious boy and his marks at school have gone up at the same time. Overall it's a great achievement and a wonderful experience for him."
