JC MSFL DIVISION FOUR
TEMPLE FORTUNE B 3 JEWVENTUS 1
Fortune got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 victory over 10-man Jewventus at Gosling Sports Park.
Fortune dominated the early proceedings but were made to wait until the half hour mark to finally break down the stubborn Jewve defence.
Player-manager Terry Jefferies provided the assist, swinging in a perfect free kick which was headed in by Gideon Wetrin, having timed his late run into the box to perfection.
The home side continued to boss the game but their final ball was often found lacking, until David Sawyer produced a moment of magic to bag the crucial second. With his back to goal on the edge of the box, Sawyer turned, swivelled and with his weaker left foot curled a beauty into the corner which gave the keeper no chance.
More Fortune chances came and went as the game opened up, and top-scorer Jeffries added a third with another cracking left-footed strike into the top corner. Jewve bagged a late consolation from Dan Ezra but the result was never in doubt.
Fortune assistant manager Adam Glekin said: "It's never easy to play against 10 men, but I thought it was a very good team performance.
"We totally dominated the game and if anything should've won by more.
"We've got a tough run of games coming up so it was an important win, and keeps us in the thick of things at the top of the division."
