Hertfordshire County Cup Round Four
London Maccabi Lions U15A Garston Boys

Two goals from striker Jack Davis helped London Maccabi Lions come from behind to book their place in the quarter-finals of the HCC for the fourth consecutive year.

Having made the semi-finals last year, Lions were in no mood to slip up in a tie played in wintery conditions.

With a strong line-up, captain Jake Rinsler led the team out for the first half, with both sides getting used to the slippery conditions the game was evenly contested.

Garston gained control from their midfield dominance and with 10 minutes to go in the first half, a well-worked goal saw them take a deserved lead.

Lions were clearly lifted by some solid instructions at half time from manager Gavin Alexander. Straight from the kick off, it looked like a Lions team that was going to hunt down the opposition and seek to rectify the first half deficit.

Striker Jack Davis, who has been on fire in the last few games, showed just why he is first choice striker. Picking up possession from a Johnny Daitz delivery from the right wing to level the scores.

Lions now looked in control and it seemed only a matter of time before number two was coming. From central defence, Rinsler launched a ball straight over the top of the opponents for Davis to run on to, chipping the oncoming keeper to slot home.

A deserved victory sees Lions book their place in the place in the quarter-finals for the fourth year on the trot.
