Juice it up with a splash of orange

Inject some Jaffa into your wardrobe this spring

articlemain

A pop of scorching colour is the way to give your wardrobe an instant uplift and a fresh Spring 2022 sensibility.
Hot pink, yellow and lime are all in the mix for the new season, but orange is the key hue in 2022.
Orange was used for maxi dresses by, among others, Gabriela Hearst, Valentino, Zimmermann, Cult Gaia and Marques Almeida; for midi and mini dresses by Valentino and Roksanda; and for floor-length silk kaftans by Emilio Pucci. But for those who balk at wearing a lot of a shade matching Jaffa’s most famous export, a pop of orange will suffice to elevate and sharpen our look — especially if we dress in neutral and basic tones for greater longevity and flexibility from our wardrobe.

An interesting way to achieve an orange boost is via a handbag. As well as the designer goodies from, among others, Stella McCartney, Valentino, Balmain and Loewe, there is more affordable orange to wear cross-body, nestled in the crook of an arm or hung from a shoulder at Dune, Oliver Bonas and Zara.
For a slightly bigger splash of citrus, there are orange jumpers, blouses, tops and tees at many brands including Me+Em, Cos, Oliver Bonas, Boden and Zara, and blazers at Joe Browns, River Island and Arket. Also, because some designers got in too soon to orange and had their fingers burned, there are bright blazers by Oscar de la Renta, Altuzarra and other up-scale designers at significantly reduced prices at My Theresa, FarFetch and The Outnet.
