A new feature film called The World Will Tremble tells the incredible story of how a group of prisoners attempted an escape from the first Nazi death camp, Chelmo, to provide the first eyewitness accounts of the Third Reich’s systematic murder of the Jews.
The film, financed by British production Lorton Entertainment, has just been completed with Oliver Jackson Cohen (pictured) playing Solomon Wiener and Jeremy Neumark Jones as Michael Podchlebnik; a rare film where Jewish actors are playing Jewish roles.
Putting the story together has been a ten-year labour of love for writer and director Lior Geller working with researchers from Yad Vashem in Jerusalem as well as surviving family members.
Dr Na’ama Shik from Yad Vashem said the film is “destined to become one of the most important, watched and studied films of the Holocaust.”
