It's wedding season so use technology to your advantage and getting planning!

Mazeltov, you're engaged. Now put down that champagne, as this is where the real work begins. Planning your wedding is great fun but there's also lots to do. We have tested the best apps to help with your wedmin, whatever type of wedding you are having.

Google Docs: All-in-one Wedding Planner

This is not technically an app but a pre-formatted spreadsheet template that allows you to keep track of everything from budgets to RSVPs to your menu choices. As it is a Google Doc, you can share with as many people as you want and allow them to edit it. The tabs are customisable and the format is flexible enough to plan for a synagogue wedding rather than a church one, for example, plus it will calculate your spending for you as you go along (although, annoyingly, it defaults to dollars). The planner is made in association with wedding blog Style Me Pretty and each tab gives handy tips or inspiration.

Wedshoots

These days, everyone is a phone-photographer - and chances are that you will see the first pictures of your big day on Facebook before you have even got to the banqueting suite. With Wedshoots you can compile all your guests' pictures in one place. Create an album before the event, send the password-protected album code to your guests via email or Whatsapp and let them do the rest.

You can download the album, use filters and send your favourites to your friends and family.

My Wedding by Hitched

This is an all-in-one app. Log in and the home screen has a timer, counting down to your big day. You can opt for updates on time-sensitive to-do items., while sections include a scrapbook, to-do-list, budget planner, guest manager and table planner, as well as forums connecting you to other brides on the Hitched network.

The scrapbook is similar to Pinterest, allowing you to save all your inspirational images in one place. You can personalise your to-do list or stick to the outline provided, which also offers suggested deadlines based on the date of your wedding.

Handily, the table planner allows you to lay out your dining room, choose the shape of your tables and move guests around, all within the app.

Evernote

More than just a notebook app, Evernote allows you to add audio, images and internet links to any note, which you can then share with your future husband/wife in instant chats.

The app looks classy and as it is really designed for work notes and discussions, you can sync up calendar alerts, create checklists and assign tasks and send out clips of possible first-dance songs, all in one place.

The app also syncs across all your devices and can be accessed from a desktop. So no more hurried texts to your other half when a cute idea for the flower girl pops into your head, or your caterer sets a decision deadline.

Guides for Brides Wedding Planner

This is another multi-tasking wedding app that allows you to keep track of your suppliers, budget and guest list all in one place. The to-do list is customisable but offers suggestions, as well as recommended timeframes.

Again the default option is for a church wedding but it is very easy to edit the tasks and substitute shul, registry office - or beach.

This to-do list really does get very specific - even reminding you to buy underwear or arrange some time together before the big day. Sound advice.
