Today we find out that instead of building for all Israelis, Shas' Interior Minister has told Shas' Housing Minister that there are 4,500 housing units approved for the ultra Orthodox sector in one of their gilded ghettoes.
But not for the put-upon middle class.
Most middle class Israelis have seen through the threats of the far right and its wannabee shills abroad have put forward as they tried to stop protesting against the high-prices of food, property, fuel, draconian taxation etc. Most Israelis now know that they have been used and abused for the sake of a few.
They know that they have subsidised the housing jollies of the West Bank settlers, despite the fact that they cannot afford to live where the work is.
They know they have subsidised the settlers' public transport despite the fact that in the rest of Israel bus and trains fares are now almost at London prices.
They know they have paid for the settlers to have their own roads, while their own, in Israel, are in a disgraceful state and contribute not a little to the high rate of road accidents.
They know that squandering billions on the occupation and the settlers is money down the drain because eventually, if Israel wants to exist as a Jewish state, it'll have to relinquish West Bank, despite what the swivelled-eyed messianics say.

The party's over. No one is buying the far rights' and the ultra Orthodox bread and circuses act any more. The true Israel has woken up. Boker tov, Yisrael.
