Last week we published an article ‘Document reveals Iranian pressure on Britain not to ban the terrorist IRGC’ which wrongly suggested that a think tank analyst had passed sensitive information to an Iranian diplomat, which was then used to ‘bully’ the British government into not proscribing the IRGC as a terrorist organisation.
We subsequently posted a correction online in which we intimated that the said analyst may also have received sensitive information.
We accept that the analyst in question in fact, never received sensitive information, nor passed any such information to the Iranian diplomat and our suggestion to the contrary was wrong and without foundation. We apologise to the analyst and think tank in question for any distress and harm caused.
