The word iconic is over used, but Leonard Nimoy was one of the truly iconic figures of the past half century. Mr Spock was one of the great fictional characters, who spoke not just to a nation but to much of the planet. And as Josh Glancy writes this week, he was so clearly, so obviously and so deeply Jewish. Generations of us saw reflections of ourselves — of parts of ourselves — in him. And now we wish that his memory lives long and prospers.
