At a time when there is so much suspicion and worry, it is heartening to be able to report that the newest member of one synagogue committee is the very embodiment of interfaith dialogue — a Muslim. And in a city, Bradford, which has two of the most divisive and nasty MPs in the land: George Galloway and David Ward. Jani Rashid is believed to be the first ever Muslim shul committee member.
Bradford may be one of the smallest Jewish communities, but it certainly knows how to make an impact.
